What we collect

When you send us a consultation request through this website, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, email address, phone number, postcode or region, and the notes you write about your project.

We do not buy, sell, or trade personal information.

Cookies and similar technologies

Nothing that is not strictly necessary is placed on your device before you agree to it. When you first arrive you are asked to choose, and you can change that choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link at the foot of any page.

Always active: a record of the choice you made on this notice, so we do not ask again, and a note that the opening animation has already played, so you see it once rather than on every page. Neither identifies you. Our enquiry forms are part of this website and place nothing on your device.

Counting visits, always active: Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights record that a page was requested and how quickly it loaded. They set no cookies, read and store nothing on your device, and cannot recognise you or link one visit to another. Because nothing is placed on your device, your consent is not required for them, and there is nothing for you to withdraw. We tell you because you should know what is counted rather than have to take it on trust.

Google Analytics, only if you agree: it tells us how people found the site and how they move through it. It sets its own cookies and gives your browser a random identifier so a return visit can be recognised as the same browser, though it does not tell us who you are. If you decline, or simply do not answer, it is never loaded and no analytics cookie is written.

Advertising: this site currently loads no advertising or social media tracking of any kind. If that changes we will ask for your choice again before anything is placed on your device.

Why we use it

We use your details for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if you choose to proceed, to prepare and deliver your commission. In legal terms, this processing is necessary for the steps you have asked us to take before entering into a contract, and for our legitimate interest in responding to the people who contact us.

Who handles it on our behalf

Your enquiry is delivered to us by trusted service providers who process it on our instructions: our website host (Vercel), our email delivery provider, Google (which holds the spreadsheet we keep enquiries in, and provides the measurement described above), and Zoho, the customer relationship system we use to manage enquiries. They act on our instructions and under the same obligations. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as the conversation is live, and for up to two years afterwards so we can pick the thread back up if you return to the project. Commission records are kept for the period required by tax and warranty obligations.

Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us at the address above and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If the way we handle personal information changes, we will update this page. This notice was last updated in July 2026.

Where we add or change a provider that places anything on your device, we will ask you to make your choice again rather than assuming the previous one still stands.
